MQ’s magnetic constant remains linked to its electric prediction

The magnetic result follows the electric prediction and shares its propagated uncertainty.

· Recorded source version · Retrospective release

CHICAGO — The current MQ constants construction obtains vacuum permeability from vacuum permittivity and the defined speed of light. The conventional algebraic identity remains attached to the calculation. The magnetic result is therefore a linked output of the charge-based electric construction.

Figure 1 summarizes the source result and its evidentiary scope.

Shared covariance, not a separate experiment

Figure 1. Source-based summary of the construction and its stated limits. The panels organize the cited facts; they are not an additional physical derivation or a new observation.

A table can display permittivity and permeability on separate rows, but the rows do not constitute separate experiments. Their propagated errors share the electric prediction and the upstream inverse fine-structure input. Covariance must be retained if the results are combined or transformed.

source review states this dependence explicitly. It also distinguishes the new fundamental electromagnetic route from the historical auxiliary parameter that was resolved from measured electromagnetic constants. Changing that intermediate organization does not make the final magnetic row an independent source of evidence.

The October source records a reproducible algebraic consequence of the adopted construction. It does not report a new vacuum-permeability measurement or demonstrate that an electromagnetic prediction has been independently confirmed twice. A prospective test would need an observable consequence with a separately justified input and uncertainty chain.
